It has been an undecided answer for me whether or not I wanted to read The Scarlet Letter in my Literature class. Of course I’m going to have to read the book, but our teacher wanted out opinion on it. At the beginning when we first started looking into the book, I was all for reading it after I looked over a short summary about it. It seemed like something I may be interested in. And something that could extend my thinking of history. But then in my class, we had to look at reviews that other people had written about this book. The reviews were mainly really harsh ones about the book being terrible. But there were also a few good reviews. But after reading the bad reviews on this book it got me to thinking if I really wanted to read it or not. There for awhile I started thinking there was no way I would want to read this book because so many teens my age hated it!! But I then thought about it a little more. The book does seem like it will be a little interesting to read. Despite many negative reviews it has received. In some of the reviews that were positive, it was people who had read the book a second time, and went into reading it with a different attitude than they had before. This made the book enjoyable to them because they actually wanted to read it. So i have decided that The Scarlet Letter will be a god book to read for our class. And I am hoping it turns out that way since I am going into with a positive attitude! Well lets hope I’m right!
